Kathy Swanson and her neighbor, Sheryl, are both having difficulty with their husbands. So when Sheryl suggests to Kathy that they should get their lives back by killing each other’s husbands, Kathy facetiously sanctions the plan. But when her husband, Dean, shows up dead, she realizes Sheryl mistakenly took her flippant response seriously. Now Sheryl expects Kathy to hold up her end of the bargain. As Sheryl becomes increasingly menacing, Kathy realises she is caught between being framed for murder or becoming the next victim.
